About Us
HI, I’m Tracie Brown, Owner and Designer for Newfound Applique. I have been a craft lover since I was a little girl which led to machine embroidery. My husband and I adopted our first child and I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. I loved machine embroidery as a hobby so I started learning how to digitize. In the middle of learning how to digitize we received wonderful news from the adoption agency and we adopted our second child. Now with a little girl and a new baby boy and 2 cats and all the fun, stress and lack of sleep and some help from my husband, Chris, Newfound Applique was born in 2010. So, 15 years later and here we are.
All newfound applique designs are made by me and all are tested for quality. I have been a long-time Janome user and started with a 350 E, then an MB 4 and now I use a 500E. I used Janome digitizer for years and have recently switched to Hatch Embroidery. I focus on helping to the best of my ability and make sure my customers have the best experience possible
My Hobbies are almost all craft related and include embroidery of course, sublimation (mugs, decorations, T shirt printing, cross stich and more, and my husband even gets me to go fishing a few times a year. We live in a very unique place called Newfoundland in Canada, in St. John’s, the oldest city in North America. Our kids are reaching the college age and a new stage of life is starting for us, the 2 kids and our 2 cats.
Newfound Applique is a small family business based in Newfoundland Canada. Our goal is to develop, design and supply machine embroidery designs and fun in the hoop project designs. All our designs are based on legally purchased clip art and on unique custom designs by Newfound Applique. All products are designed using Janome software. Each product for sale has been tested by Newfound Applique and stitched out using a Janome embroidery machine. All pictures on the site are images of the actual stitched product.
